Stop-loss
A pre-set exit that caps the loss on a trade if price moves against you.
A stop-loss defines your risk before you enter, turning an open-ended loss into a known, sized one. Placing it at a level that invalidates your idea — and not moving it wider once you're in — is the difference between a small planned loss and an account-denting one.
